Painting working towards abstraction

This painting consists of two panels. Materials I am using are acrylic paint and charcoal. Started by drawing with charcoal over an acrylic wash on canvas.

Next image shows the addition of ochre and more charcoal work.

Third image shows a thicker layer of paint.

Next step will be obliterating parts of the image with thick white paint - I think. Then more charcoal and more paint. The composition is satisfying at present, so the challenge is to keep the composition aesthetically pleasing whilst creating an abstracted image.
